Dream Theater October 2007
Now I have loved this band for a long time but for many years hadn't seen them. Small gigs in clubs but they always came over.Then they get to Hammy O size gigs,then multiple nights and now we go to Wembley Arena for my 5th time of seeing them.
The UK has finally woke up to them.You will love them or hate them mainly for the length of songs but more of that later.
Symphony X are the support.Very metal with a fab singer.The crowd went mad.
A hell of a response for a support act.Would love to see them in a club.
Dream Theater played a short set for them only 2 hrs 5 mins.The crowd was probably about 11000.A lot of kids who probably love the new cd.Excellent lights and sound we stood to the left to watch John Petrucci(Geetar)who is simply one of the best.Mike Portnoy(drums)is the youngest ever entrant into the Rock n'roll hall of fame in the US and with Neal Peart of Rush is simply the greatest.He is an octopus.Every member of the band is top notch.
They played 4 off the new cd.Only DT could play cd tracks from years ago and get away with it.Only DT could put 2 tracks off the new cd to make a 25 minute song.Only DT could play an encore of 6 songs put together as a medley.Every song has more time changes than it seems possible.
They are a one off who are finally getting the recognition over here they deserve.A 20 year 20 million career cd sales ain't bad.
